More wisdom on a wall...or in this case, a window

Someone left this in a prominent place on a high street.  I - and I am sure, they - hope that everyone who walked past saw it and took it on board.  It's a small town - say 200 people noticed that sign in a day, and began to live by its message.  They then pass on the message to 10 friends each, who pass it on to 10 more...theoretically, pretty much the entire World becomes a more forgiving and tolerant place.  Well, even if this doesn't happen, at least whoever left the notice there can feel happy that they at least tried to start something.

The tube station wall answered...

What was the question?

The World As I See It

For a man remembered chiefly as a mathematician, Einstein had some beautiful philosophies.

"How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we are bound by the ties of sympathy. A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving...................   http://www.aip.org/history/einstein/essay.htm

Cliche? Maybe.

Soreal Fairey has just Sorealised something pretty important.  Big revelation - heard it said before but never really identified until recently.

There's a lot of hideous things that go on in the World - and I'm talking small-scale, day to day.  In a huge epiphanal breakthrough, Soreal Fairey would just like to make it known to all out there that there is nothing more important than sticking to your guns, maintaining your integrity and being you, no matter how tempting it is to roll with the masses by committing the kind of emotional mental and moral crimes that leave the Fairey cold.  It's hard - nigh on impossible - and it feels like it isn't worth it at first.  But it will be.  I therefore urge anyone reading to not give in - when the sun sets on the wreckage, the ones who have gone their own way are the ones who can hold their heads up with pride.

Or, to put it bluntly - life is short.  Don't be a d*ck.

Jammin'

Speaks for itself really.  My advice to the celebrity peace reps and G8 bigshots - go to Womad Festival.

Hang out, eat some falafel.  Open your eyes.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Soreal Philosophy and Religion

Sorealism is clearly a (nascent  and nebulous) philosophy, somehow grounded on the principles of scepticism, existentialism and scientific doubt, so how on earth can it ever include religion? Soreal faith would be a contradiction in terms. We probably place the great religions of the world somewhere up there with myth, delusion and anthropology. But there's an important distinction between the principles of sorealism and the evangelical atheists like Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris (author of The End of Faith).
